This is another classic southern dessert. This specific recipe is straight from my late grandmother’s recipe box. This recipe always looked fairly simple to me but having watched my mom try it this recipe is hard to get just right.
Ingredients:
- pre-made pie shell
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Cream the butter and brown sugar
- Beat the eggs into the butter blend.
- Stir in the salt, corn syrup, milk, vanilla, and chopped pecans.
- Garnish with pecan halves.
- Pour into the unbaked pie halves.
- Bake at 350 for 45 minutes
